George Bakris, MD

Dr. Bakris has published more than 700 articles in the areas of kidney disease and hypertension. He was the editor or co-editor of 19 books, a past editor of the American Journal of Nephrology, Nephrology and Hypertension, and UpToDate. Until 2024, he served on more than 16 editorial boards, including Diabetes Care, Kidney International, NDT, and the Journal of the American Society of Hypertension.
