Kamyar Kalantar-Zadeh, MD, MPH, PhD

Kam Kalantar studied medicine at the University of Bonn, Germany, and received MPH and PhD degrees in Nutritional Epidemiology from UC Berkeley. He was trained at the University of Nuremberg (Germany), SUNY Brooklyn, and UCSF medical schools. He is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Paediatrics. Kam has authored >900 papers and has had numerous NIH grants as PI. He is the Past President of the International Society of Renal Nutrition & Metabolism (ISRNM) and co-chair of the steering committee of the “World Kidney Day”. He serves as editor in chief of the “Journal of Renal Nutrition”. Dr. Kalantar’s core focus is in Nutrition and Diet in the Management of Kidney Health and Disease as well as dialysis transition and therapies.
